
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Flir Systems Inc. formally launched its $274 million tender offer for ICx Technologies Inc. on Friday.
The Portland, Ore., company, which makes thermal imaging and infrared camera systems, is offering ICx stockholders $7.55 per share in cash.
ICx, which makes explosives detectors, recommended shareholders accept the bid last month.
Flir is using ICx to expand the surveillance and reconnaissance side of its government systems division. It expects the deal to close on the fourth quarter.
Flir shares rose 3 cents to $26.31 ahead of regular trading Friday morning.
